There is a local college working on a film project and they are casting an Asian male or female (40-60) to play the owner of a restaurant. This is one of the main characters and the actor needs to be fluent in Cantonese/English.
AUDITION DATES, in Boston:
Friday, April 27th, 2012; from 4pm until 8pm
Saturday, April 28th, 2012; from 12pm until 4pm
AUDITION DETAILS: Cold read and some improvisation games. Prepared monologues are encouraged. We will chat briefly with each performer before their audition. Auditions will take about ten to fifteen minutes apiece.

SYNOPSIS: This is a film about the intricacies of human interactions and relationships. The film follows three individuals who work in the same restaurant. A normal day takes a turn for the worst for each of the three characters as they find themselves trying to resolve personal problems while at work. The film culminates in one moment when the waiter must mediate between his Chinese boss and one of the Honduran immigrant workers.
Each character must navigate the complex social world in which the divisions between familial, friendly, and professional interaction is blurred.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: - Boss (male/female, 40-60) The owner of the restaurant. A Chinese-born immigrant who worked very hard to achieve wealth and stability. He/she no longer has control over his/her freeloader son and struggles to maintain his/her role as the young man’s disciplinarian and father/mother.
